Just finished the latest book by Charlaine Harris, "Dead And Gone". If you have been following her Southern Vampire series, you would know that this book was just released this month. It is the ninth book in this series.

I have some mixed feelings about this latest addition to the series though. First, I think Sookie was less fearless in this book. It seems to me in the other books she had more spirit and fight in her. She seemed a bit more dependent in here.

Also, there seemed to be some things that just popped into the book, but went nowhere. I mean really, why make one of the favored characters (not Crystal) pregnant and then just kill her off in the end. What was the point in bringing in the short conversation with Hunter's dad, just to have that mean nothing in the end? Good things to come along in the book, yes. Thanks Charlaine for Eric (my favorite VikingVamp) and Sookie ummm, "reconnecting". However, I always feel bad for Bill in his struggle for Sookie's love.

I am sure at some point, Charlaine will have to make Sookie choose for good, or get rid of either Eric or Bill, but where would be the fun in that, right?  In my opinion, and after a lot of thought, I am convinced Charlaine is using this book as a bridge to future books. I think she is changing Sookie for the future development of Bon Temp and the things that are to come in the books.  So, I guess in my opinion , change is a comin', so hold on Bon Temp.

Well, thanks Charlaine for another look into the world of Sookie, Eric, and Bill. Even though I have some mixed feelings, I will be one of the first persons waiting on book 10. Keep them coming.
